So I just upgraded my rig so that it can handle some of the bigger gaming titles, and when the hard drive transfer was 91% over, it suddenly stopped. Is there any way to avoid duplicates in the hard drive?

So, I would recommend using Acronis true image HD which you can find here. I am not going to explain how to use it, but here is a link on how to use it.

 

(I believe that you are trying to clone the old HDD to the new one)

I exported the old one to an external hdd and now I'm transferring the external to the new system but the transfer stopped for whatever reason, so now I will have to retransfer all of the data for the next 6-8 hours

unless there is a way to avoid duplicate files
