Let me explain what and why project frankintosh is being created. But first a little abut my self i go to a boarding school in the north Scotland and home is in suffolk (south east England) so this is going to be a long project as i will only be working on it when I'm home. You might also why the G5 case, well I'm very stuck in the apple ecosystem with iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, apple TV's, airport, etc. Don't worry I'm working my way out not a fan of the new stuff, but i still appreciate the designs of old and having a dual booting Hackintosh is my next step.

So on to the project...

p.s. i would like to see any thoughts or ideas you have, so please add to the thread.

All of these examples are trying to tackle the same problem, when Apple designed the G5 they designed it with the non Standard motherboard, psu and no io cutout so people have had to mod it to fit there needs.  There are even companies that spechlice in making kits to adapt them to work with normal parts.

But i what to try something different...

Mocking up the case with card.

Im going to fit the motherboard so that its facing up and the io is facing  inside the computer then the wires would go out the back in an opening.

Conector for the back of the case where the original apple one was.

The ducting for the PSU will hold it in place as well as keeping the cables tidy, the on thing i would change from the model is its position, so i would move it forward so i can hide cables behind it.

I decided a 140 would be best for the case as it is very open and althow you could fit a two 120 plus a rad, I'm going to be air cooling.
