Hi everyone,

Recently I upgrade my entire desktop and got rid of my MSI gaming notebook. But since I still am a student I was in desperate need of a laptop replacement. Since I put down a lot of money in my desktop I was not planning to pay a lot for my new laptop. In fact in only need to use MS office apps. So after looking arround a bit i ended up buying a Samsung Chromebook.

Firts impressions after playing with it the entire day, quite nice! It does what I need it do(creating doc in word, excel, powerpoint etc) good via googledocs. But it also has it shortcommings of course since its an 250 dollar piece of hardware. Im kind of disapointed with the fact it does not support MKV files(it does play it video stream just no audio..) and i found online video playback laggs a bit sometimes.

So I would love to know if there are other Chromebook users here at the forum. Or members who know some tips and tricks which come in handy?

greetings,

ps. posted via my chromebook ;)

English is not my native language, so go easy on me

Can we get some screen shots of various things? I've never actually seen Chrome OS.

Of course, but i do have to say its pretty much the same as you opening your chrome browser and working online in your google docs etc. you can hook up mass storage devices via usb 2 and 3

so you can watch video or photos. you can expend its memory (16gb, with 100gb gdrive storage) with SD cards.

this is it desktop after you unlock the chrome book. to the left, chrome, gmail, gdocs, youtube and all the dots opens a pop up with some more apps.

as you see here, the file manager. the "download folder" is infact your onboard ssd. afterplugging in a sd or usb it will pop up beneath it.

and here, the samsung chromebook it self. it looks really sweet and stylish. but its a piece of plastic... keyboard feels nice(got a cherry MX black CM storm trigger normally) and battery life is great! aprox 6.5 hours.

i think its a more then decent purchase so far. just some slight details i would love to know more about
