Problems With My Internet Connection

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

Sorry, I have no idea and I'm not exactly sure where to check it at.

Well, your Cable Box may have been shocked and lost stable voltage regulation when they ran the maintance.

Again, ask your ISP.

I don't really expect anybody to know what the problem is, but honestly it's annoying the shit out of me.

I recently moved to a new house and changed my internet provider to a local service. For the first week it was really, REALLY, great. I more than quintupled my download speed and my upload speed more than tripled. Then, for SOME reason my town decided to do maintenance on the powerlines and therefor cut power to the entire town.

(Small town, don't ask, I have to idea why they decided to do this.)

Apparently, they do this twice a year. but I didn't experience any problems last year with my old internet.

Since shutting off the power, my internet will cut out from sometimes every 5 minutes to every 45 minutes for a split second. This wouldn't be a problem if when it cut out, it didn't take everything up to five minutes to get back up.

Do any of you know what the problem is? As silly as it sounds I've unplugged it and reset it multiple times, but the problem just continues.
