So I am planning on getting a 4K TV in the next couple months and I also wanted to build a HTPC so that I can play Netflix shows, YouTube ETC.

I will be buying some parts off of a trusted friend for this build so I was just wondering if the parts would be okay for this kind of use.

I will be buying a i5-3570K + motherboard off of my friend and I have a 7970 and a R9-280X sitting in my closet that I can use for this build so all I need to buy is a case, SSD, and some RAM.

Do you guys think this will be able to suit my needs?

As always, thanks for the assistance.

why do you need a GPU for an HTPC?

I thought some of the 4K shows and such kinda require a GPU to play smoothly?

The iGPU is good enough

unless you want to game on your HTPC

I mean you could install it but you would just be wasting power and maybe life span of your GPUs as well as increasing noise and PSU cost

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.
