I've noticed that on castle maps half the time if I look at 1 side of the wall from a particular angle the shadows bug out a bit - basically they turn into a dark-filter-like overlay for the texture. I'm running maxed using DX11 - game's fault or something on my end? I kinda think it's the game.

A screenshot ?

I never got this problem while playing the game though.

It's only that angle - when I rotate my camera it goes away and at 45* offset it's gone completely - only 1 of the walls on castles have this. I figure it's a game thing

Hey ^^

I looked around on the internet, and some players got the same problem, with sometime, small differences.

some persons got this problem on both the japan map, and the battle map

It is a weird bug of missing texture that some people experienced back in 2012-2013.

if your game if not up to date, this might be a good thing to do, especialy if it is not a legit version

I have also found something that could be a solution :

go into graphics options and change the shadow options to higher or lower (it does not matter which). Go back to the game and the tiles should be gone. Then go back to graphics options and switch the shadows to original setting.

I hope I helped you :)

Oh, I didn't even bother - it's not an issue so long as my card is fine :D - I hope you can take a moment to listen my current paranoia xD - in XCOM i'm getting a bit of tearing-like stuff - I mean, no hard artifacts. I guess it might be the mod I use - it's like 2 free expansions really - add sooo much more but I guess it might be pushing the engine a bit. I mean - I tried to make a vid buy my 30 fps phone can't record it xD - it's like sometimes a specific part of the screen acts as if there's tearing.

Oddly enough - TitanFall used all my VRAM and it was fine, Witcher 3 and other demanding games are fine - OCCT doesn't give me errors - I guess it's the game?
