I need a display port to vga adapter to connect my 2nd monitor to my pc. I am currently using the vga port on the gpu and both of my monitors are vga so i need an adapter. My gpu has dp 1.2 as listed here http://www.msi.com/product/vga/R7-260X-2GD5-OC.html#hero-overview.

i am not sure if using this adapter (dp 1.1) will work

It says  * Display Port v1.1 compliant and also says a minimum of 1080p when my monitor is less than this. Will this work?

  • * Support a minimum of 1080P resolution at 24bpp, 50/60HZ at 15 meters

It's fine too. :D VGA is an analog signal that degrades over long distances. That statement is just a guarantee that you can get at least 1080p over 15 meters. For lower resolutions it could work even further.

I understand now. A 15m cable can support that. whiles a smaller cable could guarantee even better resolutions. Thankyou so much xD
