Streaming games and Storage server simulatenously?

Hi guys, I got a lot of questions related to streaming games and having a storage server of sorts.

 

1. Can I turn my PC basically into a Local Storage server?

 

2. If so then how?

 

3. Could I stream games and have it still be able to act as a Local Storage server without lag?

 

4. Could i be able to access files on the storage server from my phone (check signature for phone details)?

 

I used to be massively into gaming but over the 1 year and 3 months I've had it, I've really wanted to play less on my desktop as I've slowly started to play games less frequently.

 

Recently I've been more into programming and such which obviously doesn't need as much power as gaming but I still want to play games. 

 

Here are some specs in case you need them:

 

16GB RAM

Quad core i5 haswell

128GB SSD + 1TB HDD + 500GB HDD

Z97-K Motherboard

MSI Geforce GTX 770 2GB

 

In the future I'll add higher capacity HDDs.

You can just make a samba share of what you want to share as a storage server and then use steam streaming and you're done.

Yeah, in windows you can right click on the folder you want to be accessible on your network and click properties and then the sharing tab. There it will give the option to share and you can even configure permissions.

and if devices access the shared folders then won't there be some lag when gaming

You should be able to get a file explorer app on your phone that supports samba (SMB).

And no there should not be any lag from that.

There is but it costs $2 USD

 

I don't have any money on my Microsoft Account and I don't know where to buy Microsoft Store Gift cards

Ok, but if you can find a free app that works with samba, use that. Android has a load of apps that can do it for free. Perhaps someone here knows windows phone and can help you find a good one.
