most valuable build recommendation

Best thing you can do 4 yourself is make a working gsync/freesync loop on an IPS/VA monitor.

 - Meaning a gsync monitor with a gsync supporting videocard. Will make gaming actually enjoyable instead of an endless struggle.

And IPS/VA monitor because TN (or unspecified) is utter garbage and will be a disappointment no matter how much you try to convince yourself otherwise. Before you speak of response times - should find out what they are - the sticky in Display section is very informative.

(Spoiler alert - has nothing to do with the responsiveness, and everything to do with motion blur, and no human would tell the difference - its a marketing scam to label things "gaming" and rip you off because you have no clue. Not to mention the advertised numbers are 100% bullshit, just like contrast ratio)

If you wish to make a 1000$+ build to then use on some crappy small TN monitor - feel free. I just pity the complete waste of a system due to forgetting the most important part of a gaming build.

"Crappy TN Monitor" Isnt the XL2430T TN, and still is comparable to some IPS Monitors?

And IPS/VA monitor because TN (or unspecified) is utter garbage .

I use a VA panel as my main monitor, it is slower than a TN but faster than IPS and as I always (never say always) sit more or less straight on to the monitor whilst using the computer the (undetectable to my eyes at sensible angles) colour shift is a non-event. Perhaps on a TN it would be very noticeable.

I do not understand Linus' apparent severe dislike of off-angle viewing colour change. Perhaps if you are looking at the monitor over an editor's shoulder.... , but once set up surely the viewing angle doesn't vary that much.

You dont have to take a short cut and hear my recommendation.

You`ll either learn this stuff yourself the hard way eventually or you`ll slowly grow tired of PC gaming entirely (because you`ll be making discomfort for yourself without realizing it).
