Hi

I have never built a pc and I currently don't own one. I am doing a lot of 3d work for my course as well as graphic design. I have been using my uni computer but it's time I got my own. I have no Idea about what parts I should buy because I have no idea about hardware.

I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.

1. Budget & Location

My budget is $1500 AUD. I live in Melbourne and would prefer not go over my budget but if I am unable to buy the parts for a good build I am willing to wait until I save up.

2. Aim

3d work, graphic design and game design. Mostly high poly modelling and sculpting will be done.

3. Monitors

I just need 2 monitors atheist 1080p

4. Peripherals

I will need a mouse and a keyboard and some headphones. I will need an OS, preferably Windows 7 ultimate.

5. Why are you upgrading?

I don't have a computer, I have been using my iPad and university computers for the past year.

Thanks

So many puns yet non are helping xD

Anyway, jokes aside your budget is a bit low, mostly because of the inclusion of the monitors. Personally I would set aside at least 300 for the monitors as even cheep/decent monitors cost around 150ish each. If you can do that and leave the budget of 1500 for the desktop then something might be comparable. :) This is my opinion as I know that you can build something a bit weaker now and just upgrade later.

I fix computers and computer accessories... sometimes... when I want to...

8 cores of cpu, 8 gb of video ram and ram for your content creation.

Although it have weaker "per core" performance compared to Intel, for budget content creation this should still be a great choice. Besides, you can always overclock it a little with the cooler and the "E" series uses less power thus it won't get as hot when OC'ed.

Since you're doing 3D stuffs this GPU with 8gb of vram should be worth your money.

For your ram, you can always grab another stick of 8gb and throw it in the next month so you'll have a total of 16gb. Since you have 4 ram slots on your MOBO you can always keep going until you have 32gb. (which is the max it will support)

Included a hyper 212 because amd chips tend to use more power and thus higher heat output.

The monitors should work fine since you're on a budget, you can always upgrade to a cheap ultrawide in the future. Same for your Peripherals.

Throw in another 30 bucks and get yourself a windows key on g2a.

Lastly, I would really recommend a better PSU if you have the extra cash e.g. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220gs0550v1

A LITTLE over budget but this is the best I can think of with 1060 USD.
