"Hardware device removed" when running 3DMark?

Hello guys

I've been wanting to look into my 3DMark score and compare it with other 780 Tis, so I bought it on Steam and I am now trying to run the Fire Strike benchmark.

After a lot of unsuccessful runs of:

Unexpected error running tests.
Workload work failed with error message: DXGI call IDXGISwapChain::Present failed [-2005270523]:

Hardware device removed.

DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED

I am clueless to what I can do. Check a look at this GPU-Z and see if anything looks odd: http://i.imgur.com/IJCvsjQ.png
You can clearly see where it cuts off. The first cut is the first crash, second cut is the change of scene, and the third cut is when the benchmark crashed giving me this error.

I did try an earlier build of this driver, but the same issue happened there. This also happens in some games, where the game would freeze for 10+ seconds, then minimize it, and I can then open the game again and play normally.
If I open the Event Log Viewer (or whatever it's called), I can see the display driver has crashed.

I am unable to run a complete 3DMark benchmark.

I have not overclocked my card during these runs. Could it be a faulty chip card?

Desktop: i9 12900K - 64GB 6000 MHz CL36 - RTX 4090 X3 OC

Unraid server: Ryzen 3900X - 32GB 3200 MHz CL14 - Quadro P2000 - 50+ TB raw

Do you by any chance have MSI afterburner running, or anything else that has an overlay?

I had something similar "Display resolution changed, Display out of focus" or something like that. Closing Afterburners overlay that shows FPS fixed the problem.

It's not a race to the bottom.

Yeah I do have EVGA PrecisionX running, but I have no overlay running. I also have Shadowplay running in the background with an FPS counter overlay.
