I'm trying to download windows 10 from windows 7 Untimate and after it restarts it open control panel and says "updates were installed: Never(Failed)" and just says "windows 10 is ready to install" at the top. I've tried downloading it multiple times with no luck. I did upgrade right when it came out and reverted almost instantly. And since then i upgraded from windows 7 home premium to windows 7 ultimate with a legit key.

Thanks for any help

You mean my windows 7 key or the windows 10? Ive never had a bootleg copy of windows. Everything is legit

windows 7 , im pretty sure there are some updates u need to do , before going to windows 10

go to your windows search bar and search for -> windows update , and press and pick all updates , wait for them to finish  then do a restart

after all that im pretty sure u can go to your new win 10 software

CPU: Intel i7 8700k    MB: Gigabyte Z390    RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB     GPU: GTX 1070 Ti 8GB

I upgraded from a windows 7 home premium i bought to a teacher edition ultimate i found around my house. The teacher edition one just had an unlimited use product key. Is that why? if so, how can i go back to the home premium?
