So I have an ASUS R700de with the following specs:

- AMD A6-4400 (dual core @ 2.7)

- 8GB RAM

- dual GPU (7520G + 7670M)

- 1TB HDD and I've placed a 120GB SSD in it a few months ago

My laptop has a strange issue when opening the lit. It does nothing, it powers on but doesn't go to the login screen

Result --> I have to remove the battery and power adapter, hold power button for a few seconds, attach the power again.

this happens from time to time, sometimes it does what it needs to do.

I have found a laptop: Lenovo Z50-70 with:

- i5 4210u

- 8GB ram (upgradeable to 16)

- Gforce 840M

- 1TB HDD (5400)

I know the cpu and gpu are better but would it be a good improvement or not? I can pick it up at € 490

For 490€ that sounds like a really nice upgrade.

I would totally get that thing.

You could also carry your old SSD over into the new notebook if it supports two drives.

I've looked into that and it only supports 1 drive but I can put the SSD in my PC for some games and if I need the startup time I can always buy an SSHD and eventually I may buy 8GB extra RAM

Most likely you won't need 16GB of RAM on a notebook.

I have 8GB installed on mine which is overkill for my usage.
