I'm having a weird problem that just recently started occurring on both Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain. I'm getting one constant vertical tear in the middle-ish right part of the screen, regardless of V sync being on or not. I've tested on two different displays and the tear remains in the same place no matter what I do. I've tested many different graphics settings, turned off NVIDIA control panel HBAO and turned it back on, turned on and off V Sync, changed resolutions, ran in fullscreen and fullscreen borderless, nothing's working. This wasn't happening at all and the experience was absolutely perfect until I booted up Ground Zeroes again for a quick play yesterday; I noticed it happening on Ground Zeroes and it is now happening on The Phantom Pain as well. It's probably the weirdest graphical glitch I've ever seen. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do? It's not happening in any other games than Ground Zeroes and the Phantom Pain. It's extremely frustrating as I'm absolutely in love with the game, but I don't want to continue to play it like this.

Oh signature time!  It's on now, gonna give ya somethin snarky and clever and think way too hard about this because I'm really concerned about what people on the internet think of me.  Better google some good quotes to put in here too.....oh wait I'm not a loser.

What is your current PC build?

Have you OC'ed your pc?

980 ti, i7 3820 3.6 ghz processor, 1200 watt thermaltake 80 + gold PSU, 16 gbs of DDR3 G Skill Rip Jaws, and the motherboard escapes me at the moment but it's an asrock from about 3 or 4 years ago.  Nothing's overclocked.  I run the game at 1080p on highest settings for everything, but as I said I toggled and experimented with all the settings extensively before coming here to post.  Thanks for the suggestion by the way, I'm really tired haha.  I should mention that this machine is very very stable and powers through every game on the market, and generally it does so while downsampling from 4 or 3k while maintaining 60 fps.  I don't think it's a hardware issue.  It's so weird that it's only happening on this one game, and that it didn't start happening until I replayed the first part, MGSV Ground Zeroes, last night.  I've never seen anything like it honestly.

probably screwy nvidia drivers being screwy nvidia drivers

they've been slipping up on their driver releases since windows 10 came out so it's kinda hard to recommend nvidia at this point and time

I haven't updated drivers since the MGSV game ready drivers around a month or so ago, maybe I should update to the newest ones.  I don't typically make a habit of updating drivers unless the new ones will benefit me in some major way, but I'm willing to try it at this point.

Okay, so in reality you shouldn't get it due you have a great system. Also you don't have any problems with other games. Its really tricky. And you have not OCed your system?

Alright, I'm updating the drivers now; I'll post the results again when I test the game out in a bit.  Thanks for the help guys :)

Updated the drivers and it is unfortunately still happening.  What a strange thing.  I'm going to test out about three to four more taxing games and see if any other anomalies pop up to determine if it's hardware or software oriented.  I've been switching between MGSV and two other games in the past couple of weeks and only had problems with MGSV, but it's always possible that I missed some weirdness while playing other games.  I'll test out Crysis 3, Arkham Knight, and perhaps even some odd random indie game and give them the eagle eye treatment to see if anything's amiss.  I'll post the results here again in a bit.

Tested out Arkham Knight and Crysis 3, both very extensively on the highest settings I could push them and could not replicate the results I'm getting on MGSV.  It must be something about the Fox Engine that simply decided not to like my rig very much.  I suppose I'll just have to get used to it, I mean it's not exactly game breaking in any way and the game still looks great for the most part.  It's just so bizarre, I wish I could figure out what the problem is.
