I'm building a computer for my uncle and I need part recommendations on a case, power supply, and just ways to make the build cheaper. The problem is that my uncle wants a case with a window but I'm also limited with a budget around 500-550 dollars (I'll post other products I have looked at). Cheap window cases with good cable management are hard to find. Also If i can convince him to instead go for a mATX build I would need a good modular psu that is around 500w or lower. PSU are also listed below

The reason I choose the a85600k is due to the fact that it has good on-board graphics and overall just cheaper

My recommendation for any sort of budget build is to not purchase a modular PSU. Anything modular is going to eat up a good chunk of your budget which is unneccesary and is kind of going against the whole theme of "trying to make the build cheaper". There are plently of good quality non modular PSU's out there. As always I would recommend corsair, seasonic, antec and silverstone.

i5 2500k, MSI Z77 Mpower, 4x4 GB Musking Enhanced Blackline. MSI N560GTX-Ti Hawk(temporary), Samsung 830 128, Silverstone Strider Gold Evolution 750w

What will he be using the system for?

I would agree with GrandmasBoy to just go with a non-modular power supply though, lower-wattage units don't come with that many connectors anyways. In addition to that however, a 300w unit would be more than enough for powering an A8, so something like the Antec BP350 or the Seasonic SS-300ET would work fine.

Please specify "simple" things. Like web browsing, checking email, youtubing? Will he be doing any gaming at all?

Should get a good quality 300-400W PSU.

Why ATX? mATX is great, ITX is even better. I'd reckon you can build a pretty decent PC for his needs in an ITX form factor.

● Thermaltake Core P5 ● ASUS Z170-A ● Intel Core i7-6700k
● EK Supremacy EVO ● 2x 8GB GSkill Ripjaws
● EVGA GTX 770 ● Samsung 850 EVO 250GB ● XFX 750W Black Edition PSU

Good ITX motherboards tend to be much more expensive than mATX and ATX counterparts. And as Leggo said, there really aren't very many that would suit his needs.

Cut back on the Mobo and you'll save $20 or you can use it towrads something else. This ASrock board is perfect for his needs.

The best heatsink you can get for ~$20 is this here Xigmatek.

This 500W Coolmax is only $30 upfront and $20 after an MIR, and it's 80 plus certified.

Will he be using wifi or ethernet, and does he need or want USB3?

The usb3 doesn't really matter and I believe he will be using Ethernet. I'll be discussing it with him soon so if he tells me he wants more stuff then he better offer more money. And does the cooler support FM2 sockets?

*edit I'm dumb it does support Fm2

It may be cheaper to just go to a Microcenter if there is one by you, and find a CPU there. They sell Intel CPUs at huge discounts, such as an Ivy Pentium that's usually $90 elsewhere for $60 in store.
