Coding is not intensive at all. You could in theory do it on your phone without issue.

As for Animation CPU CPU CPU. The 5820k is your best choice.

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

Hello, I am in the process of picking a new build together. Is coding in HTML5 and making animations in Adobe suites hard on the CPU and will I need 16gb of RAM?

-Looking into buying either an i7 6700k, i7 5820k, or an i7 4790k.

----I also game a lot.

thanks in advance.

Coding in HTML5 (in my scenario) is possible on even as weak as a single-core 2.6GHz celeron (ignoring laggy animations) but in all seriousness you can code on any system. It depends what software you'll be using though. I alternate between the command-line(GNU nano), as well as a web-based IDE and Notepad++, all of which are light but capable editors. In regards to using Adobe's suite for building sites though, you might benefit from the extra CPU juice.

It's completely blown out of proportion. animating needs power, but in school we do html without a problem on a cheap dell with 1gb ram 64 bit windows 7 and mobo graphics and a pre core 2 duo processor.

gotta love it when the school has the budget for 100 port ethernet switches in every room usually with 5 computers connected at most but they cant spend money on the computers for at least the programming classes and cad classes.

If you think all console gamers are "console peasants" then you dont belong to the pc master race

but the fan boys on the other hand...

Isn't the minimum requirement for 64 bit windows 7 2 gigabytes of RAM?

On topic, I designed HTML webpages on my second generation iPad. It isn't intensive. For animation, any of those CPUs will be good, but possibly the 5820k will be better.
