no surround

Hello all.

This is my build:

 

i7-6700k

2X8gb 2400mhz

Gigabyte Z170x-gaming 7

MSI R9 390

Seasonic P860

Fracta Design R5

 

No matter what I've tried, I can't get surround to work. not in DTS and not in AC3.

when I test the speakers via the soundblaster software, it outputs the sound to the two front speakers,and that's it.

I'm preaty much at a loss here...

 

any suggestions?

 

P.S. I haven't changed my audio setup (denon AVR-1906+2 fronts,2 backs and centre)

First what connections are you using, optical, rca, digital?

I'm using optical to my reciever, and 3.5 jack for my headphones.

 

here's a screen shot of (I think) the reason why I can't get DTS or AC3 out, no SPDIF
