The front panel is steel so there are a number of ways to make the cuts.  But whatever method you use will give best results by doing it with the panel removed.

After that you could use fiber cut off discs and a rotary tool (e.g. Dremel) or drill pilot holes then use a hand held jig saw with a steel cutting blade.  I'd recommend the dremel, but either way you will want to cut just shy of your desired line then use files (flat for straight, rounded for curves) to clean up the edges flush with your lines.

The best way to achieve uniform round holes is to pre-cut them slightly undersized, then use a router with a template to clean up the the edges.

You also need to figure out how you want to dress those openings once you've made them.  The quick method would be to slap some magnetic dust filters over the top, but that won't look too sharp.  Other options include all sorts of aftermarket grills, or grill materials.

Given that this is your first time I would advise you to seriously consider finding a similar piece of plain sheet steel and doing som practice attempts before you go messing with that case.  Also, if/when you do go messing with that case front it is a good idea to apply a layer of masking tape to the entire front to minimize the chances of scratching/scuffing during the modding process.
