Hello fellow pc gamers. with the great games coming out next season i want to upgrade my rig.

In July 2013 i ordered a already builded AMD pc from a company, because of my bad pc building knowledge.

Yesterday i installed a new graphic card (msi gtx r9 380 4gb).

Altough i like the card, Gta 5 isn't running very smoothly. Maybe someone can help me with tips for upgrading my system.

TLDR: I have a old pc. GTA doesnt run smoothly. Want to upgrade. Tips please.

this are my specs right now

*Cooler Master silencio 550

*600 Watt Cooler Master power supply

*AMD Zambezi FX-4100 QuadCore

*basic fan cooling

*MSI 760GA-P43FX

*7.1 sound card

*8gb ddr3 RAM

*500 GB SataIII hard drive

*msi gtx r9 380 4gb

*1gbit network card

I tought about getting another R9 380 4GB to crossfire it. But maybe i have to replace my motherboard and cpu. Any tips? My goal is to run fallout 4 and gta 5 smoothly on ultra.

I want to spend around $350 extra.

P.s. Is there any benefit to overclocking right now?

Your going to bottleneck your GPU with that CPU nowadays.

Id recommend going for a new MB/Intel CPU.

Even a i5 4460 would be amazing for you atm. If you want go for a 4690k instead.

CPU: i7 8700k   Motherboard: Asus Maximus Hero  RAM: 16GB @ 3600Mhz  GPU: MSI 980Ti 6G  Case: Fractal Design R5 (4 Intakes/3Exhausts)  Storage: Crucial BX100 SSD, Samsung 850 & Seagate 2TB HDD  PSU: Seasonic M12II Evo '850W'  CPU Cooling: Corsair H110i GT

You need a 980ti to run gta5 at ultra at 1080p

Edit:

The best thing to do when you're cpu bottlenecked is to increase the graphics to push the bottleneck towards the graphics card. Since you're cpu bottlenecked, your framerates would be about the same when running at low as they are when you run it at high.

Edit2:

I upgraded from the 7950 at 1ghz (roughly the same performance as the 380/285) and the card can only handle normal textures with everything else on very high, no msaa or advanced graphics. Don't expect too much since this is a very demanding game.
