Is this memory a good idea? 2400MHz - DDR3 - H97

2400MHz sounds great, but is it a good idea for DDR3? I'm going to be getting a H97 motherboard.

Is it prefered over the 1600MHz Kingston also has?

 

Anything over 1600Mhz won't make much of an impact, especially with H97 motherboards. (They will downclock the RAM to around 1600MHz)

That's actually pretty cheap for 16gb & that speed.

 

I say go for it.

Memory speed on H97 is limited to 1600Mhz IIRC.

With intel the difference in ram speed doesn't really matter that much.

Unless you're using an APU, I don't see a reason to go over 1600MHz, unless you plan to go for higher overclock numbers.

A locked bathroom in the right place can make all the difference in the world.
