Adapters o.0 Problem!

I got another monitor and i wanted to set up dual monitors. Somehow i have managed to damage my HDMI port and it has snapped inside. I am using the dvi to vga for 1 of my 2 vga monitors. The only other port i could use is display port or dvi d (DIGITAL), i cant see any dvi d to vga adapters for a decent price so could i use a dvi-d to hdmi and then use my hdmi to vga adapter? i am not sure it will work as i am stacking up adapters.

DVI does not adapt to VGA unless you have a specially-equipped DVI port called DVI-I, which basically has a VGA port built into it in addition to the DVI functionality. Without DVI-I, you would need a signal converter.

HDMI only adapts to DVI-D, it does not adapt to DVI-I.

HDMI only adapts to DVI-D, it does not adapt to DVI-I.

 

But i need DVI-D (dual link) to hdmi, and then i will plug in my HDMI to vga into that

Yes, DisplayPort to VGA adapters will work.
