They do come with a price, but you can't go wrong with the Harman Kardon SoundSticks III. They have solid bass and treble but is lacking in the middle but just a bit.

You can sometimes find decent used speakers on eBay or craigslist... interested in that maybe?

Yeah I can attest to this.

I just got some vintage speakers from 1970 that sounds great for 30$, and my amp/receiver I got for 15$
