SSDS not working

Go to solution Solved by Riley Smuff,

Hey there Riley Smuff,

Are the drives recognized in BIOS, Device Manager or Disk Management? Did yo connect the proper cables? I would try each of them separately with different SATA and USB cables on different internal and external ports and possibly on another computer. If the drives get detected I would run a diagnostic utility from the manufacturer and check their health. If they don't get detected they have most probably failed.

I've tried all of those,They don't show up in bios or device manager

Unfortunatly this is a downside for SSD when compared to HHD, when a SSD is dead its dead nothing u can do, u can either chuck the SSD in the bin or on the face of the person who sold it to u lol (jks) the only thing i can think of is to change ur cable and usb/sata port on the comp and try again.

Also I'm interested in why SSDs are making high pitched noises... as there is no moving part in a SSD

I'd try each of the drives on another computer and see if the result is different. If not - I would think the drives have failed. If they do work properly and their S.M.A.R.T. status is good, I would think that the problem is either with the SATA ports or the SATA controller.
