New gaming rig - Verification

- Im going to build my own computer for the first time, and i would love to have a killer machine this time around. Right now i have a budget Desktop which is 3½ years old, so it's time to change it. This is my build, and since i dont have must experience in choosing the components my self, i would like to ask you guys for help. What do you think? The is the machine:

 

MSI Z97S SLI Krait + Core i7-4790K DC 1

NZXT H440W Silent Ultra - Black / Green 1

MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING - 4GB GDDR5 1

Cooler Master GM G550W - 550W PSU 1

Corsair Hydro H110i GT High Performance 1

G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3-1600 C9 QC - 16GB 1

ASUS 24" VG248QE - 3D Ready

 

I have added a new screen as well, the ASUS 24" VG248QE - 3D Ready. I have a 240 gb 840 PRO from samsung aswell as a 1TB 7200 RPM harddrive.

The 390 is a better GPU for gaming.

If you are doing video editing, stay with the 970!

I would increase the PSU to a 600 or 650 watt just because you always want more headroom in your power delivery.

The GPU

The R9 390 preforms better than a 970 in games.

The 970 is better in Video editing.

 

If you were to do both, I would chose a 970.
