I own a corsair h100i with corsair link and i Water to know if i need to have corsair link conected because my motherboard only has 2 internal usb2.0 and my 900d needs 2 USB 2.0 internal headers

Its optional but you won't be able to use corsair link. You cooler will just run at full RPM.

I have both H100i and Corsair link, and my H100i didn't connect to it, but the software can still control the H100i (LED Logo, pump and the fans) no problem.

When I did the build initially I didn't connect them at all, and after I have my light kit running I did try to connect the H100i to the Commander and strangely from then on the H100i LED no longer light up and the software control no longer worked, I then disconnect the H100i from the Corsair link and reboot, after that everything back to normal. Perhaps something I did wrong but now everything are working so I will leave it as is.
