So I've been tinkering for the past few days with overclocking my 4790k and I reached 4.5Ghz with 1.208 core voltage. My temps have also been good

Did I get lucky?

Should I try for 4.9Ghz?

I'd say about average. Once you start going past the average 4.4~4.5ghz, THEN things become interesting.

I'd shoot for 4.7, actually. That's already hard enough. Only shoot higher if you can actually get there.
