How to remove inetpub

Go to solution Solved by TetraSky,

The C:\Inetpub folder and subfolders are related to the installation of Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS). %systemdrive% is the default location for installation as described in Microsoft Article ID: 271071.

>>you can remove it by following the below steps

Go to Programs and Features and on the left hand side you will see Turn Windows Functions on and off.

You will want to navigate to where it says Internet Information Services and uncheck it.

Then hit Okay

Basically, if you don't have a web server running on your PC, it should be fine to just delete it.

If you can't delete it within windows for some reason, after making sure it is turned OFF in Windows Function, you can use a Linux boot disk/USB and delete it from there.

go to enable/disable windows features and disable IIS (internet info services) and thatll remove it.

Here is a bit of a guide http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/287295-what-inetpub.html

It atlks about win 7 but same deal.

When in doubt, re-format.
