Hi,

I recently bought a VPS from evoBurst for a game server (their 4G plan to be specific if you'd like to see specs) and noticed it comes with 2 VPS servers and 2 IPv4 addresses. I've been interested in getting into web development and was curious if I could host a small-scale web server on one of these VPS's. If so, how would this setup work? I currently have CentOS installed on one of my servers but evoBurst allows for a ton of Linux distros. Any specific ways I should set this up (if I can at all)?

Thanks,

-Chris

Awesome, thanks so much.

No problem. Personally I use Ubuntu Server. No particular reason. Instructions for other Linux distributions can also be found on DigitalOcean. They also have tutorials for things like mumble servers and more advanced topics like deploying a whole cluster of web servers.

Apache is good enough for me. I can hopefully find internet resources for this. You used a VPS as well, correct?

i used a semi-dead HP box under my desk.

its state was beyond horrible xD this is on a stock amd cooler:

that also kinda beats the argument that being a nerd is expensive.

xD Servers tend to multiply, don't they?

once i find a job (find the self confidence to find a job) i'm gonna build one, with actual decent server parts.

and yes, they defenately multiply, i've ran out of shelf space on my "last post" shelf a while back xD
