Increase RAM to 16 GB if you play GTA V or other AAA titles.

what is your budget?

edit:

imo, the 390x isn't worth it. the 390 performs very similar. someone correct me if i'm wrong, but this is what i've witnessed

edit:

a 390x won't play 4k well

edit:

390x performs 10-15 percent better than the 390...

  1. cpu cooling solution is overkill for the 6600k. you can get away with an h60, a u12s, or phanteks dual fan heatsink
  2. motherboard is too expensive
  3. gpu is not suitable for 4k. maybe in crossfire though...
  4. psu is overkill in terms of wattage. a 750w is enough
  5. your hdd's are way too slow @ 5400 rpm. get 7200 rpm

the build below is set up for sli for the future in case you want to buy another 980. the 980 outperforms the 390x and the 390. i would get x2 for 1440p and 4k.

you could also get a 980 ti with a slightly less expensive case and no raid 0. this would be my choice as you get go sli in the future to support 4k with dual 980 ti's

I suggest going the NVIDIA route and SLI two 980 Ti's so you won't have to get a big PSU to feed 390X in crossfire

However, I do hope you consider 1440p/1600p gaming. I'm gaming on a 30in 1600p monitor and it's amazing. Plus, a single 980 Ti can run anything above 60 fps. A single 980 Ti is actually a tad bit overpowered for me.

Get a 1440p GSync monitor and a single high-end GPU. You'll be happier methinks.

i5 4670k | Noctua NH0-U12S | Asus Z97M Plus | Kingston HyperX Fury 8gb | Palit GTX 980 Ti Super Jetstream 6G | Samsung 850 EVO 250gb

WD Caviar Blue 1tb | Seasonic M12II 850W | Fractal Design Define R5 | Dell U3014 1600p 30" 60Hz

Corsair K65 | Razer Orochi | Bose QuietComfort 15 | Creative SBS A350 2.1
