Hi,

So recently my laptop with win 8.1 started to get these random freezes while im using it where i can i move the mouse but not click anything, or just scroll through what i already have opened (for example a page on chrome but can't switch tabs or press anything else), not even other apps i have opened already or going to the start menu, i click and nothing happens.

Only way it seems to get back to normal is to open task manager and pick the windows explorer process and reboot it(like when the start button and corners of win8.1 stop working)

Anyone else experiencing this or knows what this is? I thought it could be a win update, since it wasn't like this before, but i have the auto-updates disabled

Thanks

EDIT: Forgot to mention my pc specs and it might be relevant: i7-4710,8gb ram, evo 850 ssd, amd m265x

Admin cmd prompt type following

Sfc /scannow

Hit enter. What happens? Errors?

Thanks!

Just tried that, but it said that it didn't found any "integrity violations"

EDIT: Just tried the fix on ms site with the cmd "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" and it said it repaired a "componet store corruption". Don't know if that was the issue or not. Also run multiple malware and virus scans (nothing found though). It hasn't happened again, but with more time i will see if that fixed or not.

Never mind my last edit on the previous post, the problem is back again =/

I do have a lot of tabs opened on chrome, but the freezing goes beyond chrome and doesn't even let me pull up the start menu. I have to ctrl.atl.del to task manager and reboot explorer process seems to fix it for a while, so i guess is something in windows but the problem is figuring out what.
