so i am in my modem/router setting and there is an security option that allows me to change the firewall level, its default on low but after some research i turned it up to medium, are there any drawbacks to lowering/hiring the firewall level, i cant seem to understand what the difference are.

Well it depends on the router itself what levels actually do, but it can render certain things, like remote access, completely inoperable.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

IT all depends on how secure you want your network to be. Raising the level of "security" will be turning functions off, like remote access, port forwarding. and probably enabling this like not responding to ping requests enabling ddos protection.

In my opinion if you have a dynamic ip (your external IP changes on every reboot of your router) you should be fine leaving everything as default. if you dont use many functions like remote access just leave it at the default
