Hey Guys! As I bought a new PC (Assembled one, yea I know.), It has 500GB of internal memory. My old PC having Ubuntu has A new 1TB HDD. I want to remove and put that HDD in my new PC. But that would void the warranty it seems. So I asked a question uin one of my last status updates and I got to know that I can use a Casing or an adapter of a kind to convert internal HDD into an External one and use it.

The old 1TB  HDD is this one.

I'm looking towards buying this. Are there any better ones? (Use Amazon.in only).

And the biggest problem, How dafuq should I use it. I would surely watch youtube. But just need to get the right adapter or casing thing here.

Please Help :)

TIA

-LG

Keep the old one and put the new one in also. If something happens just remove the 1TB one. They'd never know.

I've got a useless 2TBs of storage but I couldn't pass up $30 for 1TB.

I can do that. But I'd still require an adapter in the future :P

Hey there :)

You can get either a regular external enclosure with a separate power cable (3.5" drives cannot be powered from the USB alone) or a normal docking station. Pretty much any would do. :) I'd simply read some reviews and see which ones have the best reputation.
Do have in mind that USB2.0 connection (on the enclosure, the cable or the PC port) would limit the transfer speeds quite a lot. I'd look for a USB3.0 enclosure with a corresponding cable and make sure your PC also has a USB3.0 port. :)

Well enough. I understood your point. Yes, my PC does have 3.0. Anyways, this one has the most good reputations and it's a branded one. So will this work for me?

And what's the difference b/w these two?

Yes, this one should work just fine. :)

Between the two enclosures, one of them has a USB2.0 connection so that should limit your transfer speed. I'd go with a USB3.0 one. :)
