hi everyone  when making a system image of your main hard drive does it make in 32 or 64 bit because I want to change my system to 64bit so I can take advantage of my nvidia graphic card update I currently have 4 sticks of 4gig each total of 16gigs

If you want to go from 32bit to 64bit windows you need to reinstall windows

It would make it exactly as your installation is. So you need to install windows 64 bit I'm afraid.

what about the files on my system can they still be utilized from the repair disc

It is windows 8.1 pro 64 bit

This is also using a fresh install of windows onto a  840 pro ssd
