URGENT: Windows Explorer not loading Contents

Jake Taylor

Someone help me please

This video shows exactly what I'm tingeing, things won't load correctly. Exactly after getting a VAC issue in Team Fortress 2, and restarted my computer, the VAC issue came back and when I tried to edit my folders, this happened. And I restarted again and it's still doing this. Please help.

FIXED IT:

FIX TAKEN FROM HERE:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/problem-the-windows-search-service-terminated/a867776a-c620-4cb8-b48a-8272d943440a

1. Open Registry Editor (Start > Type regedit and press enter)
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Search
3. Double click SetupCompletedSuccessfully
4. Change it from a 1 to a 0.

Windows Search service then started and all the errors in the Event Viewer no longer appeared.

Update 1: I half fixed the issue with things not loading on the side. I basically set my windows settings for Best Temperance and it shown my libraries and stuff. But the thumbnail thing is still an issue. I edit a lot of videos. And it helps to have the thumbnails.

Try opening task manager if you can and look for "Windows Explorer" right click on that and restart it.

Just a suggestion, sorry if it does not help. :(

Typing in C:\ bought up my hard drive (Of course) and it displayed all the contents after running everything for best appearance. But the only problem is the thumbnails, and I can't edit the properties of any content because of this.

And I restarted Windows Explorer, it didn't work unfortunately.

I am not a native and I kind of not get what you said there. Please, rephrase the first two sentences.

Okay, my mistake. For some reason, it's not displaying contents anymore. Basically that did nothing. Windows Explorer won't display content or load any content. I'm allowed to open and navigate files/folders, but the thumbnails and content not showing only started happening today after restarting my computer.

Have you restarted it again yet?

Can I just make this point here quickly. One user on the entire internet has the same problem I have. Every fix that was suggested didn't work, and there were only three fix suggestions.

I've spent hours finding a solution. But at this point, I'm just going to delete and reinstall Windows Explorer. Because this is getting ridiculous.

Delete Windows explorer & reinstall. You mean reinstall windows, right?

Turns out I can't delete Windows Explorer. But when I looked at that page with the guy that had the same problem as I. He attempted to reinstall Windows 8 I believe, and it wouldn't let him because of an error.
