graphics card cannot be detected?

maybe im doing the driver updates wrong. i dont have an optical drive because i was told that i dont need one. so i cant put a cd in.
but nvidia installer says "the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware".

my graphics card doesnt say "nividia" anywhere on it or on the box, but the asus website says thats the right one.

I had this problem with my EVGA 970, I just removed all of the drivers with DDU, a couple of times. (Even tho they were removed I ran it again) And it worked afther that.

Are your monitor cables plugged into the GPU?

 

If not, plug them in.

I did read it, though not necessarily with the focus required.

 

That said, I had issues installing AMD drivers a few years ago when I got my 6870 and left my monitor plugged into the motherboard.
