I'm assuming you mean the 5500 series cards from AMD because there's also intel's 5500 integrated graphics. The 5500 itself is not a card, but the series. The ATI Radeon HD 5550 and 5570 don't do well at all. You shouldn't even be looking at this card anymore because it's so old. It gets is sub 30 fps in last generation titles like Far Cry 2, Just Cause 2, and Left 4 Dead 2. "Awesome" isn't the word I would use to describe the performance.
