Hi, I want to buy a displayport cable to connect my monitor, buy in the cable description I see it says "The cable also supports next generation multimedia applications with a maximum resolution capability of up to WQXGA (2560 × 1600)" Does this mean I cant game in 4K? is it because of cable quality?

Interesting. The site is quoting the speed wrong, or has misunderstood what DisplayPort 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 are.

Unless it is a specific reduced bit rate cable (RBR) which are limited to 1080p, then it will support HBR2, which allows for higher than 4K resolution, technically. The cables are all the exact same, but the site is listing some as DisplayPort 1.2, even though it is a firmware and efficiency change, not a port or cable change. That cable should be fine.

There's some more info over here: http://www.displayport.org/cables/how-to-choose-a-displayport-cable-and-not-get-a-bad-one/
