Hi, i have a gigabyte ga-78lmt motherboard in my rig and im concerned due to the fact that the northbridge heatsink gets veryy veryy hot, cant even touch it because its sooo hot, my mobo temps in hardware monitor are in the 40's, and i have good airflow in my case (define r5), whats the issue and can this damage my rig?

It should be fine, I wouldn't worry about it at all. If anything goes wrong, just RMA the board.

I have the 8 core 8120 by amd which is being cooled by a h100i with a push pull config on the rad

i dont think its the northbridge ur talking about on the board, but instead the VRMS, overclocking with a bulldozer/fx chip will cause the vrms to go really hot and go easily to 80-90*C ( cant touch it at that anymore anything above 60 is hot to touch )

vrms can take up to 105-120*C max u shouldnt worry too much about it ( running them 24/7 at those temps arent good but 80-85 surely is 24/7 safe )
