I've been having a constant reoccurring issue during Crysis 3. I'll load up the game just fine, it'll run just fine, but after 5-10 minutes of gameplay my screen goes black and my monitor tells me "No Signal." The only thing I can do at that point is shut down my PC by holding down the power button until it shuts off, which I am aware isn't exactly good for my system. If it helps at all, this is my parts list. EVGA 600 Watt PSU, AMD FX-8350, Sentey GS-6008, EVGA GTX 970, ASRock 980DE3/U3S3, 8 GB of some random RAM, Samsung 850 EVO 120GB SSD, 1 TB Seagate Hard Drive.

Any help would be appreciated at this point.

Thank you.

"but, can it run Crysis 3?"

The black screen is ur PC saying "No!" :P

Seriously though , it does indeed sound like a safety feature kicking in(overheating), or Display driver crash(unstable GPU OC).

or a broken card but if it were that it would occur in every game.

Sounds like the GPU gets too hot and shut down. Run GPU-Z and a Benchmark like Valley, Heaven or Furmark and watch the Temps.

CPU should be just fine, probably the GPU, air flow is not exactly prime for it.

bad airflow can cause it but it usually takes longer than 10 mins - check the cooler.

you mean just check to see if the cooler is running?

Look at the fans - make sure it's not loose or anything.

max temp was around 80, average probably high 70s

Temps are fine than. Good.

But something is shutting down because of the preasure Crysis3 brings to your system.

Your PSU should delivere enough Power.

First you check the windows event manager. Give us the event ID that´s at the timeframe the blackscreen happens.

What you can do over night:

Install Prime95 and test your CPU. (main CPU test, should be the one in the middle) for 1 hour.

Install memtest and test your RAM. Mulitple Instances, 512mb each, so many instances till you reach your total RAM. Runtime at least 4-6hours.

CPU Heat Problems take maximum Minutes to show.

If you have a Cooler without Mainboard Backplate, it´s possible that the Cooler isn´t mounted proper on the CPU anymore. The smallest amount of space and all Cooling is gone. If thats the case, dissmount it, remove old paste, ad new one and mount the Cooler again.

Tell me what you find.

I removed the cooler, cleaned old paste off of it and the cpu, re-applied new paste, and remounted it. Started up Crysis 3 and still had the exact same issue.
