Hyper x Cloud 2 static noise

Hey guys, I received my hyper x cloud 2 headset in the post today, and I have encountered a problem when I enable the 7.1 surround sound, I get a static background noise when I have any noise plaything through the headset. When I turn the 7.1 surround sound off on the dongle, this static noise is gone. Does anybody know the problem?

Probably due to gainlevels in the operational amplifier due to the 7.1 mode.

You don't. It probably just has a worse SNR in 7.1 mode, causing a higher noisefloor. But fake surround sucks anyway. Set that thing to stereo and use "headphone" setting in games.

RIP. The only game I will be using this headset for is Counter-Strike, and having surround sound is pretty important.

Counter Strike has an excellent "headphone" 2.0 audio.
