So I have had my GTX 970 for about 9 months and when I first got it it was fine at playing games such as TF2, CSGO, Minecraft but over the last few months these games which once used to run fine now run like s***. The odd thing is that more demanding games such as GTA V will run perfectly fine with no usage spikes but the less demanding games will spike in GPU usage.

I will post some solutions which I have tried so far so that you don't waste your time posting solutions I have tried:

.I have set nvidia control panel so that power management is set to max performance

.I have tried running in safe mode

.I have tried manually uninstalling the drivers as well as using DDU

.I have tried using both vsync on and off

I'm running out of ideas on what to do and this is driving me crazy since it seems to make no logical sense to me. Any help is much appreciated.

I know some of the latest versions of MC have been pretty bad in terms of performance. Have you tried running earlier versions and seen if the issue still persists? Also make sure you have Java 8, not 7.

i5-4690k | GALAX HoF 980Ti | MSI Z97 Gaming 3 | 2xHyperX Fury 8GB @ 2133MHz | 2x240GB Kingston SSD in RAID-0 | 500GB Samsung 850 EVO | NZXT H440 | Corsair H75 | Corsair RM750

Do not go gentle, into that good night.

Thanks for the reply. By running on the last known version which I knew worked it has fixed minecraft but obviously not CSGO or TF2. Almost seems like its only with source games but it used to work fine which suggests some kind of update has caused it. But then I could just be trying to think in a logical way
