Windows 10 WiFi problems

I'm typing this from my android phone which works fine for my WiFi connection but my desktop works for a couple of seconds then slows down to 0mbps, I haven't tried Ethernet because my connection is downstairs. Please help. Thanks!

howgood is the wifi adapter on your pc?

maybe its slightly too old or has no range

Maybe it's the wifi adapter, my wifi adapter works fine Win10 it could be old drivers or just a old Wifi adapter

It eventually turns the WiFi icon to the warning signal

It worked fine before and even a couple of days ago.

But it starts as a 8mbps connection then a minute later it goes to 0

I've got a desktop that has been modified with a wireless network card. It gets a great signal to the router most of the time but will randomly drop the connection. None of the other wireless devices in the house do it, including the laptops.

 

Sometimes clicking on the wireless icon in the system tray will fix the problem, though I have no idea why.

Nevermind it has to do with steam as if I open anything else it doesn't happen.

I would try updating the WiFi cards drivers
