Windows 10 PC upgrade

I have a PC that I recently upgraded to Windows 10.  The disk space was not what I wanted only 250 GB so I purchased an additional 1 TB Drive.  However in Windows 10 it's only showing up as 32 MB and does not show as an available drive.  I'm assuming that it's because the drive is new and it's been a long time since I've installed a new drive.  Do new Drives now need to be formatted?  The drive does show in the device manager but if I look at it it's only showing 32 MB not 1 TB and the drive doesn't show in the drive list.  How do I get access to this 1 TB Drive?

you need to partition it and format it

in disk mangement

Go to disk management. It will show up as unallocated space. Right click it and format it.
