It has 8gb of solid state on it for caching so your most commonly used things will be put on the ssd part.

Hey I want to upgrade my macbooks hdd and am unsure of the macbooks hdd dimensions. I'm assuming 2.5in? I want to put this in it http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236541

will it fit and work? Its the same rpm as the previous hdd. I have a late 2011 macbook pro.
