I want to upgrade my CPU it currently is an AMD II x2 215 @ 2.7ghz and I want to upgrade it to a AMD Athlon II X4 640 @ 3.0GHz.

Last time I upgraded a CPU I think my BIOS wasn't updated to support my CPU and completely ruined my PC/Mobo. I just want to make sure that I am not going to fry my PC again D:

My Motherboard is Pegatron Corporation 2a9eh and is an AM3 Board.

Bios Version is American Megatrends Inc 5.14 1/9/2010.

Is there anything I need to do before upgrading?

If you need anymore info I will happily share it :P Thanks

1 post is enough, but s long as your mobo is compatible with your new cpu it's fine, apply new thermal paste.

Check your motherboards supported CPU list. It should tell you if it's supported, and if so what bios you need.

If you do need to flash your bios then just flash to the latest, one by one if there's not too many.

It's not a race to the bottom.
