USB 3.0 not working

I recently noticed that when using any of my USB 3.0 ports (back and front) that none of them were working. Does anybody know what could be the problem? thanks

Define "not working" like is the device not detected? Or is there and error message? What is the device you are using? Are you 100% sure the connector on the device itself isn't broken? Look for missing pins in the connector.

Have you installed the drivers for them?

 

Check your motherboard manufactures site for drivers and updates. There may be a USB 3 driver required for them to work.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Users cannot, and will not securely manage key material. Most users can't and the ones that can, wont.

Ask me about Bitcoin, Litecoin, Crypto-Currencies, and/or Mining them.

Most likely, it's a driver problem. Either you didn't install the necessary drivers, or they didn't install properly. Though there is the chance the ports are malfunctioning. But that's unlikely.

It is as not working as it can get lol, i will plug a peripheral such as my razor orb weaver in and it will just not work. nothing even comes up. The pins are all there and the usb 3.0 ports directly on the io plate isnt working at all either. i reinstalled all the drivers through the motherboard disk. my motherboard by the way is an asrock extreme4 gen3.

It is as not working as it can get lol, i will plug a peripheral such as my razor orb weaver in and it will just not work. nothing even comes up. The pins are all there and the usb 3.0 ports directly on the io plate isnt working at all either. i reinstalled all the drivers through the motherboard disk. my motherboard by the way is an asrock extreme4 gen3.

Download the driver, also, go check device manager to ensure that it was actually correctly installed

Thankyou for all of the help guys, i had to reinstall the driver for a second time and it is working now! thanks again!

ah i see, well first of all peripherals don't really mix well with USB 3. Try something else in the USB 3 port and see if it works just to make sure there is nothing wrong with your port and if there isn't then it's probably just the orbweaver doesn't like USB 3.
