it will most likely fail and should revert back to windows 7/8 noticing something went wrong... better off just leaving it on and letting it do its thing while you sleep

While I sleep? But i have a crappy hp laptop that has the worst cooling ever. Does it automatically shut off if its idle for a certain period of time?

it should hibernate depending on your power settings, didnt know it was a laptop... i wouldnt leave it on i would just wait patiently and lose 20 minutes of sleep lol

It's been 2 hours. I have timewarner cable, quite possibly the slowest internet I've ever used.

Edit: It's at 71%. I'm going to give it 15 minutes then I'll shut it down.
