I will be running my single SSD and 2 hard drives in RAID 0 off of the Intel SATA controller on my ASUS P8P67 PRO motherboard. However, I am confused about whether or not TRIM will still work on the SSD when it is set to RAID mode in the BIOS, even though it is not part of the actual hard drive RAID array. Can someone please clarify this? Thanks!

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

RAID isn't really preferable with HDD's there isn't an awful lot of point.

I know, but I already have them set up in RAID currently and since I will be using them in a new rig to keep my  music and videos etc. I need them to be in RAID with the new SSD :(

If you want to set up a new RAID you will probably have to format them, although I'm not sure.

You can check if it enabled by following these instructions -

Open Command Prompt with Administrative privileges (Run as administrator) and enter the follow command.

fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify

If the result is '0' TRIM is enabled.

I need an answer before I install the drives though, because if it doesn't work then I'm screwed :P

Apparently it only works on certain RAID controllers. Intel only.

"With the new Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver, v9.6, TRIM is supported in RAID, IF THE DRIVE IS NOT PART OF AN ARRAY."

So all I have to do is download Intel RST after I boot into Windows?
