Hi,

Does it matter what type a Ethernet coupler speed says it will run at?   I'm looking at some on eBay and they say they are cat5 but claim they can run a cat5e or cat6 cable?  If I connect a cat5e or cat6 cable to a cat5 coupler will it slow down speed of the faster cables to cat5?   Thanks.

It should be the same or higher than the rated cable your using to ensure speeds and quality in the system, since they have the proper shielding.
