how to make steam download faster

my steam download will not go above 700kbps 

my top download speed i can get is 7mbps that i get by my provider

im in the uk if that helps

check settings to make sure youre connected to the closest server

you need to choose the region you live in in the settings

 

edit: also, maybe if you live in a crowded city (such as new york, then maybe you should use annother server instead, even tough its further away

done all that still will not go above 700kbps

@shaneo 7 mbps = 700kbps, you're getting the download speed you should on Steam. The only thing that will improve it would be if you upgraded your internet i'm afraid.
